It’s the combination of high intensity rock n roll, working class frustration, that inspire and shape the sounds of "The Outlaws of Zen"; a quartet from the Tri-Cities, Michigan. Formed in March of 2011 from the dissolution of a previous band, founding members Korey Gillespie on guitar, and drummer, Travis Evans, begin creating a new sound based on their shared creative perspectives. The Outlaws Of Zen live by the three R's of the heavy music world: Retro. Riff. Rock. While briefly constructing new material as a two piece, they discovered the need for a broader sound. Through mutual friends, bass player, Tommy Koppman was discovered in July 2011 and quickly added his unique bass flavor to the sound. In October 2011, vocalist Joe Gibson joined the trio bringing lyrical creativity to the band’s high energy instrumental tracks. The combination of these four musicians created an instantaneous change in the energy and the direction of the band’s sound, fueling the need to play live, record, and share. On February 11th, 2012 they brought their pummeling brand of rock to The Vault in Bay City, MI for their debut performance; blanketing the audience with thick waves of sound and contagious energy. In April 2012, the Outlaws began the process of recording a 5 song demo; so stay tuned for the release of “Don't Bother Getting Up, We'll Let Ourselves In”

 Mojo Waves is a power-trio rock group based in Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in late 2011 but the musicians have been playing together for some years.

 

Mojo Waves' sound is something that you wouldn't expect to come from Finland. These days most of the Finnish rock bands play over-produced, safe and highly predictable music that lacks the attitude and the spirit of what rock music used to be in the past. Mojo Waves is the opposite of the common rock band. It's unpredictable, personal and energetic. Although influenced by vast amount of bands, its sound is unique, and its music doesn't fit in any one category.

 

Although the band feels some sort of spiritual connection with the rock music of the past, it doesn't try to copy its influences. The main goal of the band is to make their own personal songs that they can be proud of and play as many gigs as possible. Live music is what music has always been about, and that's what the band loves most, too. It isn't easy to describe the music of Mojo Waves, so you should listen to our demos "Introducing Mojo Waves" and "Enjoy, Don't Destroy". The demo was recorded by ourselves in the spirit of garage rock, and it gives some perspective to our music. 

 

The members of Mojo Waves have their ambitions and goals set high, so we are always looking for something new.

“White light and the empire collapse” is the first ep by The Cruelest Animal. Upon hearing it, people have had a tendency to refer to it as a song. That is how we would like you to experience it. Although it’s divided into 8 separate tracks, white light is really a single piece of music that morphs and transitions through different states of mood and mind. Comprised of various flavors of rhythm and melody entangled with abstract social and political themes, White light and the empire collapse aims to invigorate.
